     Well-being is our innate nature.  It is not a matter of faith.  It is a matter of practice.  Well-being can be created by practicing the exercises which generate well-being.   Dr. WellbeingSM's programs are designed to access our true nature, well-being.  As a physician, healer, and Master of Wellbeing, Dr. Peister uses the simplest, most powerful,  and most effective  tools for improving  well-being. 

     Dr. Peister,
(aka Dr. Wellbeing), teaches us how we can create well-being for ourselves everyday simply and easily.  She reminds us that like the muscles of the body which require exercise for optimal health there are inner muscles which also need exercise.  Dr. Peister teaches simple universal practices that exercise these inner muscles.  Her adages are "You Matter", "Self-Care Matters", and  "It Only Takes a Moment" to care for yourself.

Enhancing your Trainings
     Dr. WellbeingSM creates programs to enhance your trainings.  All programs include laughter as laughter enhances learning.  Laughter does this by creating positive emotions, bringing attention to the present, and releasing stress.

       Strong emotions build strong memory.  Laughter creates strong positive emotions including joy, optimism, compassion, and enthusiasm.  "Emotion drives attention and attention drives learning."   Our brain cannot learn if it not attending.   Laughing brings people powerfully into the present moment.

     The marketing industry knows the power of laughter and uses humor to create laughter.  An analysis of the retention rate for TV commercials found that the highest rate of recall of the commercial content occurred when humor was used. 

     The Dalai Lama has said that laughter is good for thinking because "when people laugh, it is easier for them to admit new ideas to their minds." 

     Laughter is a release, a moment of joy and pleasure which brings people powerfully present into the moment.   Laughter releases stress and tension so we can be present in the moment.

Dr. Peister starts your training with a 20 -30 minute program.  Later in the day when attention is waning and fatigue is setting in, Dr. Wellbeing gives another 20 minutes program to re-vitalize the group and improve focus and attention.

"Muscles Work"
     As a former psychiatrist, Dr. Peister realized that Wellbeing can be created by practicing the exercises which generate wellbeing.  Like building big bicep mucles from pushups or lifting weights, you can improve wellbeing by practicing wellbeing exercises. This concept is called "muscles work".

"Plasticity"
     The Human system is quite changeable and adaptable at any age.  Our actions actually determine what we create within our system.  If we mope around and act sad, then the chemistry within our body and the chemistry and connections within our brain are “sad”.  If we act happy and play then the chemistry and connections within us are “happy”.

      The brain’s capacity to change shape and connections with use is known as neuroplasticity.  Negative brain-use leads to negative neuroplasticity.  Positive actions lead to positive neuroplasticity.  Positive brain changes are enhanced by positive emotions and stress reduction.

The Wellbeing Laughter Club
     Laughter is the simplest and most powerful exercise we can do to improve Wellbeing.  Laughing is innate.  Everyone can laugh regardless of age, illness, or ability.   The Wellbeing Laughter Club makes genuine roaring sustained laughter possible for everyone.  As a unique group recreation activity, it combines laughter, simple movement, and play. 

     The Wellbeing Laughter Club is interactive entertainment in which everyone can participate because the laughter is generated with minimal use of cognition.  No
jokes or humor are used.
Participating in the Wellbeing Laughter Club is like attending a fun party.  Everyone is involved and everyone feels good.
    
     The Wellbeing Laughter Club powerfully uplifts mood and  improves wellbeing.  The Wellbeing Laughter Club seems to create positive neuroplasticity as it involves making playful happy movements and gestures.  By using the two-way body-mind link    we have seen laughter club participates experience a change in their state of mind.  They literally uplift themselves and become happy. The reason the Wellbeing Laughter Club appears to be so effective at creating positive neuroplasticity is because it produces positive emotions and reduces stress.
 
     The Wellbeing Laughter Club provides excellent, low-impact, physical exercise as well.
    

Creating the Wellbeing Laughter Club
     Dr. Peister’s goal is for everyone, especially clients in "care" setting to regularly attend the Wellbeing Laughter Club.

     The Wellbeing Laughter Club can be easily created by inviting Dr. Peister to run it or by training one or more staff members to lead it.  No props or materials are required.  Dr. Peister recommends that you train one or more staff members to be Laughter Leaders in your facility. They can then regularly lead the Wellbeing Laughter Club for both clients and staff.  

   The entire environment of any facility benefits from the Wellbeing Laughter Club, as it powerfully reduces stress, and creates a remarkable sense of connection within the community.   Morale and productivity also improve.  Bringing the Wellbeing Laughter Club to facilities uplifts everyone.  Laughter is the best medicine!
 
     Dr. Peister gives the trainings at your facility.  She is in the process of setting up trainings at facilities near you, which yo

     Probably the best research on laughter is on pain tolerance. “With deep heartfelt laughter, tolerance to pain appears to go up.”

     Laughter accesses the right brain the seat of creativity.  The Wellbeing Laughter Club enhances creativity and thus productivity.

     The Wellbeing Laughter Club enhances self expression.  It appears to do so by clearing the layers of inhibitions, programming, and mental roadblocks to laughter that we created through social conditioning.

     People who regularly attend Laughter Clubs claim that they physically feel better.   They state that regular laughter has: reduced blood pressure, relieved depression and anxiety, improved constipation, and is anti-aging.

     Ultimately, laughter can be viewed as an innate healing mechanism.  We can gain insight into how laughter truly heals from old Yiddish Proverb, "Laughter is to the Soul, what soap is to the Body".  This suggests that laughter is an inner cleansing mechanism.  How laughter cleanses can be understood by viewing the human being from the forefront of medicine, the Human Energy Field.  The human being, like everything else in the Universe is fundamentally made of energy.  Our thoughts and emotions are also energy.  We often store negative emotions, such as anger, sadness, and fear; (rather than expressing them).  This impairs the immune system, creates illness, and eventually leads to disease. Eighty-five percent of illness is created by unresolved emotional issues.  Laughter appears to provide a way for these emotions to be harmlessly released.  Laughter is cathartic; literally we laugh the negative emotions out.  Laughter is then a built in mechanism for regulating our energy.  Laughing can prevent illness. 

     The Wellbeing Laughter Club bypasses the intellectual systems that normally act as a brake on natural laughter.  This allows joyful natural laughter to re-emerge.

     We can reconnect with that inner place of joy and wellbeing that we had as a child through Wellbeing Laughter Club.  Wellbeing is our birth rite.

     The Mystics, Saints, and Sages teach that laughter opens up the heart.  When the heart is open, a life is open.  We feel love.  We express love.  We love ourselves.  We love others.
